This test is much more straightforward than the previous one, it can be carried out at home and requires only one sample instead of the previously recommended three. The sample is posted to the laboratory at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre for analysis.
Colorectal cancer or the colon polyps that can precede it can be detected early by looking for blood in the stool, and a much more effective treatment can be put in place in the initial stages of the disease.
Anyone aged 50 or over will be offered the test automatically by the occupational physician, during his/her visit.
